Do I need a website for my food truck?

Social media is great for today's location. A simple website is where people check your menu, book you for events, and find you again.

The short answer

You can run a food truck with only social media. But a simple website helps in three places social media is weak: people searching Google for food trucks near them, event planners looking for catering, and customers who don't use the app you post on.

What a food truck site should show

  • Your menu with prices (update it when prices change)
  • Where to find you: a schedule, or a note that says where you post your daily location
  • A catering or event-booking request form
  • Your phone number as a tap-to-call link
  • Photos of your real food
  • The cities you usually serve

What it doesn't need

You don't need online ordering, a blog, or many pages to start. One clear page per main thing (menu, catering, contact) is enough.

Keep your Google Business Profile updated

Food trucks can use a Google Business Profile as a service-area business. Keep your hours and photos current, and link to your site.

Where Nora fits

Nora can build a simple food truck site with your menu items, a catering request form that emails you, and your own .com for the first year. It is not a live ordering system or a live calendar. Starter is $399 one-time (founding price $299 for early orders). We can't promise sales or more customers.

Common questions

Is Instagram or Facebook enough for a food truck?

It can be for daily locations, but not everyone uses those apps, and posts are hard to find later. A website keeps your menu and catering info in one place.

Can my food truck website take online orders?

Some builders offer it. Nora's sites don't include ordering carts; you can add buy buttons that use your own Stripe payment links, for example for catering deposits.

Do I need my own domain?

It helps people remember you and look you up. Nora's builds include a .com for the first year, registered to you.
